17th January: Currywurst Museum.

Currywurst Museum: on a lighter note.

After seeing the Berlin Wall and going to the Topographie des Terrors museum we decided to take a trip to the Currywurst museum.

A colourful, playful interior made the history and information so much more interesting. I am a huge fan of curry wurst or do I dare say it, German Sausage! Haha; so I was hooked from the moment I saw the Wurst shaped sofa, the interactive game where you raced against the clock to chop the sausage, squirt the curry sauce on and sprinkle the Paprika over it!

The way the information was displayed reminded me of all the work that we’ve done on making information look beautiful, like David McCandless.

The graph of what the average ingredients in the special Currywurst sauce are:
The consumer profiles of several different groups of people: the bachelor, Students, families and the woman who loves cooking, it was shown as fridges: what was stuck to the outside and what the foods were on the inside.

The museum was curated with all the senses in mind and they made full use of them;
Smelling and guessing all the different spices in one room.
Touch, everything was available to touch, including the fast-food van you could walk in to, the fridges that you could open, the interactive game.
Sound, the videos including sound.
Taste, your ticket gave you a free taster of Currywurst.
And Visuals were obviously ALL around!
